Duesseldorf Photo Weekend 2015
For the fourth time, the city of Duesseldorf will be host a vibrant programme of photography for the Duesseldorf Photo Weekend 2015. Numerous galleries, museums and institutions will open their doors showing exhibitions and holding events dedicated to photography.

Portfolio Edition 2015
Portfolio Review
At the Portfolio Review fifteen emerging artists will present their work to an international panel of renowned photography experts. It will take place on 31 January 2015 at the NRW-Forum Duesseldorf from 12 to 7 pm. Each presentation will be about 20 Minutes long. The Portfolio Review is a public event and the images will be screened with a projector.
This year’s jurors are Alexa Becker, Hester Keijser, Sheyi Bakale, Kris Scholz, Gregory Barker, Anna Dannemann, Michael Biedowicz, and Clare Strand.

Archiv künstlerischer Fotografie der rheinischen Kunstszene
The Art Photography of the Rhineland Arts Scene Archive (AFORK) came into existence in 2003 as an independent collection at the Museum Kunstpalast, with approximately 8000 paper prints, 14,000 ectachromes and 70,000 negatives.
It includes portraits and documentation of studios and events, such as happenings and exhibition openings, throughout the Rhineland since the 1950s.
With a strong regional reference, AFORK fits well in a unique way, within the collection at the Museum Kunstpalast as well as within the department of contemporary art, in which it is housed. Photographs documenting Willi Kemp visiting the artists’ studios that often inspired him to purchase work can be seen in an exhibition at the Haus der Universität.
Kemp donated his entire art and photography collection to the Museum Kunstpalast in 2011.

The foundation imai was founded in 2006 in Düsseldorf, in order to support the distribution, maintenance and promotion of media art. The imai archive comprises of around 3000 artistic and documentary works that give a broad view of the development of video art, from the pioneering days in the 1960s, up to the present day.
The collection ranges from experimental work on single channel video performances to large-scale video installations. Numerous works may be borrowed or purchased via the distribution programme. imai is involved in studies, workshops, symposium and publications involving the exchange and development of research on the preservation and restoration of media art. In addition, imai organises exhibitions, screenings and lectures.
